These can be any of the following:

A Mailbox

This is a mailbox like you would have at your dialup service provider, but you can check it from anywhere in the world. This allows you to have totally independent mailboxes for each one of your employees who are on the road a lot.

A Forwarder

Any e-mail sent to your fleximail forwarder address will be forwarded to a mailbox that you specify. For example, if your accounts person has a mailbox john@yourcompany.co.za, you could set up a fleximail forwarder so that all e-mail sent to accounts@yourcompany.co.za will be forwarded to john@yourcompany.co.za.

You can even set up multiple forwarding: all e-mail going to the forwarding address will be forwarded to multiple mailboxes. Each forwarding address counts as a single fleximail address.

An Autoresponder

Autoresponders are very powerful, as they give an immediate response to your customer and give you the customers' e-mail address.

It works like this: when the customer sends e-mail to the autoresponder address, the autoresponder will send a standard reply message that you can write. The customer should get this message within ten minutes and you will get a copy of the original message from the customer.

This is very useful for information like pricelists and so on, as you can then follow up on the information and contact the customer yourself. Many companies use autoresponders to provide alternative ways of communication when people try to contact an employee who is on holiday.

Follow-up autoresponders

You can specify that a customer who gets an autoresponder, will be sent another e-mail a couple of days later to enquire whether the information was helpful. This automates the task of follow-up and takes a lot of effort out of your hands.

Mailing lists

Mailing lists provide you with a way to communicate news and special offers to your customers at a fraction of the cost of paper mail. People can subscribe or unsubscribe to your mailing lists via a web page or by sending e-mail to a special e-mail address.

You can then send an e-mail to the mailing list address and it will be distributed to all the subscribers. Mailing lists will be priced according to the frequency and size of messages sent.
